Government Contract Bidwriting for any business
An AI research agent that turns SAM.gov into a short, ranked list of federal contracts a small business can actually bid on.
Government contracts are posted on SAM.gov, and small businesses pay bidwriters to find compatible ones, research what they're worth, and write the bids. We automated that pipeline, prototyped for Cadocary.com's software contracting business and built so any business can swap in its own NAICS codes. A research agent pulls SAM.gov for the business's codes. It filters out what a human would waste time on: awarded contracts (including solicitations still listed as active after award), expired deadlines, and set-asides the business can't claim. On Cadocary's profile, 2,298 "active" notices came down to 112 open ones. Claude then scores each for fit and returns a ranked pursue/consider/skip report. The same search is hosted on AWS as a tool other agents can call. Bidkit downloads chosen RFPs and pulls out the key dates, dollar figures and contacts for drafting. To set it up, a business edits one file (NAICS codes, set-asides, capabilities). It then seeds a folder with its website, employee resumes and past bids. That's the same knowledge a human bidwriter has, and RFPs often ask for it by name as past performance. Challenges: shortlisting and the market. An LLM relevance score can't see incumbency, customer relationships or price-to-win, and bidding fast doesn't help you win. Funded competitors already sell this whole pipeline: GovDash and Procurement Sciences each raised $30M. Reliable research and validation for shortlisting and draft quality is the core AI problem. A simple UI where an executive approves or rejects drafts is what would set us apart.
⏺ Read(summary.md)
It searches SAM.gov for federal contract postings that match your business codes, drops ones already awarded, expired, or reserved for others, and ranks what's left as pursue, consider, or skip. A fuller version also reads each bid document, estimates what it's worth, and drafts a proposal for the owner to approve before anything is sent.
Best for: Small government contractors, especially software or service vendors, that want to bid on federal contracts but lack days to find, read, and write each bid.
